This tool shows a broad AIR band—not your official rank

Only the NTA NEET scorecard and result provide official All India Rank (AIR) and category rank. Actual counselling outcome depends on official rank, category, domicile where applicable, choices, counselling authority, seat availability and current rules. Do not use an estimate as a promise of admission.

Actual AIR can vary. Only NTA issues official rank information, and an AIR estimate cannot predict counselling or college allotment.

NEET 2026 marks vs rank: broad AIR reference bands

The table uses broad public 2026 score-and-rank reference points. It is for learning and mock-test planning—not for exact AIR, category rank, state rank or college prediction.

700–715AIR 1–20 rangeAt the top, even one mark can meaningfully change AIR because scores are tightly clustered.

NEET 2026 qualifying marks: what they do and do not mean

Qualifying NEET is not the same as securing a medical or dental seat. The qualifying score makes a candidate eligible for relevant counselling processes under applicable rules; seat allocation has additional requirements.

Category groupQualifying percentilePublished 2026 qualifying marks range
UR / EWS50th percentile715–213
OBC / SC / ST40th percentile212–177
UR / EWS-PwBD45th percentile212–194
OBC / SC / ST-PwBD40th percentile193–177 / 191–178 as applicable to the listed category

Always verify the exact current official result notice and counselling rules for your category. A qualifying score alone does not guarantee any particular college, course or seat.

Why NEET rank can change sharply with a few marks

At higher scores

Many candidates may be concentrated within a narrow score range. That means one or two marks can move a candidate across a noticeable AIR interval. Do not assume a fixed marks-to-rank formula will repeat every year.

For counselling

AIR is only one input. Your category, domicile rules where applicable, seat matrix, counselling authority, programme choices and other candidates’ choices can all affect allotment.

Convert your mock-test score into an improvement plan

Instead of reacting emotionally to an estimated rank, identify the source of lost marks: concept gaps, recall gaps, calculation errors, guessing or time management.

Below 400

Build the base

Prioritise NCERT, basic concepts and smaller chapter-wise tests. Aim for steady correct-attempt improvement before chasing full-paper scores.

400–499

Improve coverage

Find weak chapters, revise Biology facts carefully and reduce preventable mistakes in Chemistry and Physics.

500–599

Raise accuracy

Review each incorrect answer, classify the mistake and fix recurring negative marking patterns.

600 and above

Protect precision

Use timed full mocks, strengthen weaker subjects and avoid losing marks through over-attempting or rushed reading.
